Strawberry Oatmeal Superfood Breakfast

This Strawberry Oatmeal Superfood Breakfast is one of my favorite breakfasts!! Super healthy AND also somethingI have found to be an alternative to the Starbucks Strawberry Frap that my son now loves! Breakfast is by far one of my favorite meals of the day!! In fact, I just finished my healthiest meal of the day before writing this blog post. Today I had a super dense superfood shake with strawberries, oats and all kinds of other potent nutrition packed ingredients. Ever since I was little, I loved breakfast. I have never been one of those people that skips over it. Of course, now as a person on a journey to be my most fit and healthy self — I DO make better choices in what I fuel my body with for breakfast!

Today I wanted to share one of my favorite breakfast recipes. As a busy mom, wife and business owner – I don’t always have time for a full sit down meal with all the bells and whistles. I am not willing to compromise on quality – but I do have to compromise on time!! So here is a super quick and easy superfood shake that I use pretty regularly!

Healthiest Meal of the Day!!

With fresh (or frozen) strawberries plus Strawberry Shakeology, this shake will definitely satisfy your berry craving and fill you up with superfood nutrition to boot!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 scoop Strawberry (or Tropical Strawberry Vegan) Shakeology
  • 1 cup fresh (or frozen) strawberries
  • 2 Tbsp. dry old-fashioned rolled oats

Instructions

  1. Place almond milk, ice, Shakeology, strawberries, and oats in blender; cover. Blend until smooth.

Another cool thing with this recipe is that since you’re adding in a full cup of strawberries (or one purple container) – you’re getting an extra dose of health benefits with that too!!

I was doing some research recently on the benefits of strawberries and was pretty amazed at what I learned. I always knew berries were kind of the go to powerhouse when it comes to choosing fruits! But I learned some extra things that I thought were helpful!

This video showcases some really awesome information from a medical/doctor’s perspective on the benefits of strawberries. Things like anti-clotting, anti-gout and lowering bad cholesterol — all things we should be trying to include in our food choices. I was going to make my own video about the benefits of strawberries but decided to share this one since it has some great medical info in here!!

If you followed me for a while now, you know I’ve always spoken to the high heavens about how much I love Shakeology and what it does for me. I love BERRY everything!! Especially in the hot summer months!! I made the mistake of introducing the OH so yummy Strawberry Frappuccino to my son recently… eek!! BUT since then, I have been experimenting with different strawberry shakeology recipes at home that are HEALTHY versions of that Frap!!

I started to look up the nutrition facts of what was in a Strawberry Frappuccino and it will literally BLOW YOUR MIND when you see how much crap is in ONE drink from Starbucks. And not even the venti, it’s in the tall or the grande!! While I still believe a little Starbucks date with my son is WORTH it and I’ll continue to use those as special little afternoon dates with my boy…. I also know that on a regular basis – I need to get rid of extra sugar in our diet.

Mikey – First Week of First Grade

I know some of you just won’t be able to give up your Starbucks dates, and that’s okay!! {I promise you that I am not!!} Like I said above, I still love going there for myself as a little “me” time solo OR taking my son for a little after school date day and getting something special. BUT I’ve found that the recipe above for the Strawberry Oatmeal Superfood Shake gives me a good meal, it staves off my cravings for a few hours, it builds up my immune system, and I get that sweet BERRY flavor.

I hope you enjoy this recipe like me and Mikey do!!! If you have some Starbucks favorites – hit me up and I’ll try and give you a close match of a healthier version you can do from home!
